I have started a new role @Cerence (earlier known as Nuance Automotive), Germany as Innovation Manager- Automotive R&D. Previously I was with @Fraunhofer IAIS, Germany as Senior Dialogue System Researcher where I focus on the research domain: Dialogue Systems and Question Answering. I led a team that improved question-answering capabilities in Fraunhofer’s spin-off dialogue system technology Sophia.
I was also an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) @Fraunhofer IAIS, Germany in the Enterprise Information Systems group for three years. My research was primarily focussed on question answering over knowledge graphs. I have received the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship for the period of August 2015-August 2018 for research and my Ph.D. studies at the University of Bonn, Germany. I have registered my thesis on 17.10.2015, submitted the thesis on 29.11.2018, and defended on 17.01.2019 with grade: 1.0 (magna cum laude).
Interests: Question Answering, Semantic Web, Linked Data Technologies, Geospatial Question Answering, Information Extraction, Knowledge Graphs.
Current Education: Ph.D. (August,2015-January 2019): the University of Bonn, Germany under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sören Auer.
- For my full list of Publications, please see Google Scholar.
- The code of Frankenstein framework can be found in our GitHub. Arun and I are core developers behind it.
- For Qanary Framework which is co-developed by me (along with Dennis Diefenbach, and Andreas Both), please see Code.
- I have also developed QAestro framework for a semantic-based composition of QA pipelines.
- My research work is part of a European Union project ”WDAqua-Answering Questions using Web Data”. We are a team of 15 early stage researchers. Together, we improve current state-of-the-art question answering (QA) approaches to build reusable QA systems. In this project, I am developing an open question answering framework which is scalable, extensible, and reusable for other QA approaches. I aim to design a distributed, and scalable QA architecture that supports dynamic QA pipeline composition. Hence, I am responsible for building the core architecture of the project.

My previous education details are:
- Double Master’s degree (Oct-2013-June 2015) as part of EIT ICT Labs Master School, Europe. The double degree program allows a student to collectively complete 120 credits in two different universities and in the end, get two degrees from different universities.
- MSc (Computer Science and Engineering) from Aalto University, Finland with distinction (GPA: 4.32/5, 5 is Highest)
- MSc (Computer Science and Engineering) from Technische Universität Berlin, Germany (GPA: 1.5/5, 1 is highest/ Official Descriptor: Sehr gut- outstanding achievement)
- Received scholarship from EIT Digital to study in Masters program (Total Amount of Scholarship: 16000 Euro as Tuition Fee waiver + 6000 Euro as living cost coverage)
- Finished Master’s degree just in 20 months.
- B.Tech (2007-2011) (Computer Science and Engineering) from VIT University, Vellore India (GPA: 8.56/10, 10 is highest).
Past Work Experience:
- Research Assistant (January,2015-June 2015), Department of Computer Science, Aalto University under the guidance of prof. Dr. Keijo Heljanko
- The task required deep research in different cloud data stores like HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Riak and focused especially on their fault tolerance capabilities in case of heavy read and write operations. Finally, benchmarked all of them using the Yahoo Benchmarking tool (YCSB) against each other to analyze their performance on a large distributed cluster. It also resulted in my master’s thesis.
